Book Birthday News

Just a few days ago, Plantagenet Princess, Tudor Queen celebrated it's first birthday. So much has changed for me in the past twelve months, and I have each of you, my readers, to thank for that. Because my dear Elizabeth enjoys such popularity, I have been able to focus on my novels instead of splitting my time between that and freelance work. It is clear how much of a difference this has made, because the second in the Plantagenet Embers series has recently been released as well.

Between Kindle, paperback, and audio books, more than 21,000 copies of Plantagenet Princess, Tudor Queen have been downloaded or shipped to 12 different countries. I would never have been bold enough to set a goal like this for myself, so, again, I thank you all for helping Elizabeth exceed my expectations.

I especially want to thank everyone who has written a review. Here is a wonderful recent review at David's Book Blurg. If you have written a review, please link to it in the comments below.

I hope that you are also enjoying Margaret Pole's story. It has been given 5-stars by Reading the Ages, and I look forward to reading your reviews as well. The Plantagenet Embers trilogy will be complete with the story of Mary I in Queen of Martyrs, scheduled for release in spring 2017.

Upcoming Event

If you are in the Grand Rapids area, I would love to meet some of you in person! I will be participating in Local Author Night at Schuler Books on September 8th at 7pm. This is your opportunity to pick up a signed copy of Faithful Traitor and hang out with a few awesome authors for the evening.

Guest Blog at English Historical Fiction Authors

I also have a post today at EHFA, where Faithful Traitor is the Book of the Day. In this article, I have taken a look at Margaret Pole's coat of arms and what the colors, symbols, and designs all indicate about this great lady. Check it out!

Book and Event News

It has been one week since the release of Faithful Traitor, and I am happy to report that Margaret is doing quite well for herself. In Amazon's Biographical Fiction category, Faithful Traitor has been in the Top 10 since its release in the UK and has bounced around the Top 50 in the US. Amazon US also posts a Hot New Releases list, which Margaret has proudly been a part of in the Top 5.

So, thank you to all of you who have made this possible!

Being an independent writer has some great advantages, such as the fact that I completed my book release while on a family vacation in another country. I don't believe there are many jobs that allow you that kind of freedom on major projects! So, again, thank you for supporting me and my writing.

If you are reading Faithful Traitor right now, I can't wait to hear what you think of it. Leave a link to your review in the comments below. Here are a few amazing reviews have already come in:
Rebecca Hill on Goodreads
Troy's Blog on Booklikes
First Amazon UK Review
First Amazon US Review

My next author event is in just a few days! If you are in the Jackson, Michigan area, come and visit me at the Book Cottage between 3-5pm on Friday, June 24th. Pick up a shiny new signed copy of any of my books while you're there.

Out of the area but want signed copies? You can always contact me using the form at the right side of this page to receive paperbacks directly from me (I invoice through PayPal). All orders include my fancy new bookmarks as well. :-D

Again, thanks to all who read my blog, buy my books, and write reviews. I couldn't do it without you, so you deserve a little bit of input. What topic would you like for me to blog about in upcoming posts?

Book News

There it is! That's my book on display!
Yesterday was my birthday. This is not an event that I normally get too excited about or want too much recognition of. However, this year I got to spend the evening of my birthday at the Local Author Night at Schuler Books! If you are in the Lansing area, you can find my books, Plantagenet Princess, Tudor Queen and Over the Deep, at Schuler Books in the Meridian Mall.

Upon arrival, I was feeling quite victorious.

Still getting used to the idea that people want my autograph.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me and especially those who joined me for this event! It was such a great evening that I hardly had time to be worried about the milestone birthday that I was having.  ;-)

My next book signing event will be in Jackson, Michigan at the Book Cottage on June 25th. I look forward to meeting some of you there!

See Upcoming Events for more information and opportunities to talk books with me.

In other news, Star Isales has won the giveaway for Tony Riches' JASPER: Book Two of the Tudor Triilogy! Thank you to everyone who entered. Make sure you check out all of Tony's awesome novels.

My next novel, Faithful Traitor: The Story of Margaret Pole will be released June 14th. It is available now for pre-order on Kindle.
